This is a great chance to come down to the Capitol with other hunters and anglers and make your voice heard. The timing is also good, as this special day at the capitol comes just a couple of business days before the hearing in House Agriculture on HB 1150 - a bill to divert hunting and angling license dollars to the Colorado Water Conservation Board for use with water storage projects. Over the next decade, HB 1150 would cost Colorado's sportsmen $260 million in the combination of raided funds and lost federal wildlife grants. By taking part in this special event, you'll have the chance to learn about HB 1150 and other priority issues, to talk with legislators on issues you care about, and learn how to be a more effective advocate for Colorado's fish and wildlife.

Annual Fish Sampling/River Shocking
Please be sure to prepare for all weather conditions as you never know this time of year. Waders, water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen, sunglasses and layers are important for this event as you will be out doors all day. You will hear directly from Kendall as well with additional recommendations/requirements and to sign a liability waiver. You will be meeting each day at at 8:00am at the USFS station in Minturn.

Member Fishing Day on the Colorado
Time Saturday 11am – 2pm
Where Colorado River – Pump House
We would like to invite you to join us on May 21st from 11am-2pm for a family friendly membership appreciation BBQ and fishing day on the Colorado River at Pumphouse Campground. We ask that you bring a side dish or dessert, all other food & beverage will be provided. Please do your best to leave alcohol at home. We will have one of the group campsites reserved for the day which are easy to find once you're there.
"May 21st from 11am-2pm was a great time for our family friendly membership appreciation BBQ and fishing day on the Colorado River at Pumphouse Campground. The weather was low but spirits were high for all that attended. Thanks and we'll see everyone next year."

Please join us for the 2nd Annual CFTC Fly Fishing Derby. We will be fishing to raise funds for Local Charities along the Eagle River.
All proceeds from the derby will go directly to the selected charities. We are excited for a successful event. With participants from industries throughout Colorado we hope to reach our fund raising goals. Blu SKY Restoration Contractors is looking forward to adding you to the team to benefit the Eagle Valley!

We all work together and many hands make for light work. Wear your waders and bring gloves.

The America Cup International Fly Fishing Tournament
September 15-18th, 2011 - Volunteer Opportunity - There are16 - 5 Angler Teams. International Teams from Europe and Australia, Pro Teams from the US, 2 Youth Teams, and an Adaptive Team led by Sarah Will and Tred Barta. Competing on the finest rivers in Colorado. Visit www.theamericacup.com to learn more. This is an offical Town of Vail event - be part of the Valley's first big fly fishing event!
We are looking for controllers to assist at this competition. A Controller is assigned to a competitor, measuring and recording the trout. It’s an opportunity to watch and learn from the best fly fisherman in the world.
Daily box lunches and water are provided to all Volunteers and a great awards banquet Sunday evening the 19th. To lean more about being a volunteer, click here.
